Prysm Note for coding projects

Programming is the easy part; remembering why the code looks like this is the hard part. Notes that record decisions and a task list that records the next step turn a return to a project into work instead of archaeology.

What matters here

  • A project per repository
  • Decision notes for anything surprising
  • Small tasks with clear next actions
  • Bugs tracked as tasks with reproduction steps
  • MCP so an AI editor can read the list

Decisions worth writing

Why this database, why this workaround, why the retry is there. Future you will assume it was arbitrary, and the note is what stops a careless refactor.

The next action

Keep the top of the list small and specific: add the failing test, then fix the parse. A list of vague features is a wish list, and it does not help at nine in the evening.

Bug reports

A task with the steps to reproduce, the expected result and the actual result. Writing it properly is half the diagnosis, and it makes the fix reviewable.
