What is a weekly review?

The weekly review is the maintenance that keeps every other system working. Without it, capture accumulates, dates drift and the plan slowly stops matching reality.

What matters here

  • A fixed slot every week
  • Clear the inbox and the notes pile
  • Look at the next two weeks
  • Move what no longer matters
  • Fifteen to thirty minutes is enough

What to actually do

Read what you captured, give it a date or delete it, check the calendar for the week, and pick the few things that matter. That is the whole review, and it fits in half an hour.

Why it gets skipped

It feels optional until the system collapses, and then it feels like too much work to start. Booking it as an appointment in a low energy slot is more effective than planning to do it when things calm down.

The output

A short list of what next week is for, and an inbox that is honest. If the review produces a longer list than before, it turned into planning rather than maintenance.
